Case color in relation to LED color

Updated: Sep 13, 2023

I really want to address something that I see happening often when people pick their colors and case colors, and I think, there's no way that they're going to like this. This is probably not what they intended when they selected these colors.

Certain LEDs have a certain effect on certain case colors. Let's say somebody picks green and UV LEDs. These colors on their own look amazing, they blend really well and just overall look good together. But now let's say somebody decides they want to put those colors in a green case. You have to realize that green cases are UV reactive, and due to the saturation of the color in the case the only thing that's going to happen is the light is going to look green, and a slightly different shade of green where the UV LED is. The purple shade from the UV led isn't going to show at all because UV is already the dimmest LED, and then putting it in a green case is only going to show the green glow from the UV reaction. This isn't to say don't ever put UV in a green case, if you want to use an opposing color like red or yellow and also use UV that will probably work fine. OR if you want to use solid UV in a green case this will also look fine. Same thing applies with blue leds and white leds. Let's say somebody gets blue, white, and UV. In a clear case those colors will look great, BUT if you stick that combo in a green or yellow case youre not going to see blue white and uv, youre going to see 3 different shades of yellow or green. You always gotta keep in mind that outside of clear cases, all the other case colors are going to effect the shade of the led. Sometimes it works out, but in my opinion the majority of the time I don't think it has the result that people want. There are also exceptions to this, like pink cases. Pink cases are opposite enough on the light spectrum that putting uv or blue or white actually might have the intended effect. The blue is bright enough that it will look blueish purple, white will be the solid pink that people expect, and uv is going to have a floro pink look. Some of the purple or blue will come through in pink cases. If somebody has any questions I urge them to just message me and ask. I will sit there and answer any and every question you have. You're not bothering or bugging me, I don't mind at all. I actually prefer it if people consult me if they're on the fence about certain colors combos. I just hate seeing people get something that they may not like. I really hope this helps, have a nice day, and SoNik out...
